In the techno savvy cultured world today, who isn’t a part of social media? Especially during the unpredictable span of a pandemic, it has aroused as a medium to connect the world.

Now, it’s hardly a day that passes by without looking at the Instagram feed or retweeting the lit comment by your influencer.

Obviously there’s a lot more that you do on these platforms and ya… that’s cool!

But the best part which I have always admired about social media is virtuality -the essence of it. Even a shy, introverted person can connect to the world with utmost confidence and self admiration.

However, the virtual life, which was meant for a few moments of containment by connecting with people at ease has begun to take a negative toll in real life.

Multiple psychological researches have found extensive usage of social media to be inducing mental health issues such as loneliness, depression, anxiety, FOMO(Fear of Missing Out),screen addiction and even suicidal thoughts at times.

A study by University of Pennsylvania shows that social media is one of the significant causes of increasing loneliness and depression amongst people.

Also, an experimental survey shows that around 60% of people dealing with disturbing levels of low confidence and loss of self esteem have experienced tremendous improvement on being isolated from social media.

Does it mean that the only way to ensure an unharmed mental health is giving up on social media? Nope buddy…. There’s another solution to it…namely…’The Change of Perspective’.

You can also call it a small transition from virtuality to reality. Our solution simply works on the basis of understanding the relevance of social media in our life…..understanding the fact that your display picture is not the scale of measuring your beauty and that your close acquaintances are much more important than those fakesters who are just there to like your pictures and add pretty comments to it. And most importantly, you don’t have to depend on someone’s judgement to let you know what an amazing and adorable individual you are.

Also, if you are someone who is habitual of overthinking, let me reveal a not-so-secret kind of a fact……it’s only the happiest moments of life which people showcase on social media handles, nobody wants you to see their miseries! So stop overthinking right there!

(Recommendation: Go through the article- Make grass green on your side)

Once you realize the relevance of social media in your real life, you will lead to a healthy use of it through a changed perspective!

REMEMBER! The pleasure of using technological advancements does not have to come at the cost of your mental health!!!
