Our life is full of ambitions and everyone has the will to achieve one’s dreams. We work every moment to turn all our dreams into reality. It’s the everyday hustle that turns you extraordinary. In spite of all the struggle we do, sometimes we end up thinking it’s good to be in some other position in life than where we actually are!

Let’s start with a common but mostly not disclosed school day dream. Daily life during school days is kind of mundane. Every week was just the same — wake up, go to school, complete our homework. In short, we all used to hate our daily routine because then we didn’t get to chill with our friends, we were not allowed to use mobile, also not allowed to imitate parents/grown up siblings. We were just desperate to grow up and be part of college or the coveted “The free life”. When we entered college, yes it was “the” free life but mostly a life with no directions, no actual time table to follow or rather I would say a bit of a boring life. At this part of life we had most of the free time but wasn’t something we really expected, because by that time we had understood life, we were then looking at life with another perspective. Then we were more mature, that’s when we felt that we needed a job, learned the fact that earning = happiness. But once we get a job and get a bit busy with our tedious schedule to earn a living, I am sure we wish to be old enough where we can just rest on our couch and watch a movie or a web series with popcorn in hand.

So that’s life, we always assume that grass is greener on the other side. We always want to be in the future or living else’s life and miss the magic of presence.

Since we all have been through these situations, we can conclude how important it is to stay focused and just keep on going. We all have missed our school and college days when we started working. It’s just human nature, but it’s time we should understand that it’s not always great to be on the other side.

Considering the current situation, just like any other student even I didn’t like studying or preparing for exams, which was and is still one of the most hectic work to do. Every time before my exams I had a thought, how amazing will it be if we don’t have to appear for it and just get admitted to the next year, without considering any marks or ranks, amazing thought right? But who thought that it would turn out to be real! Yes, we all got promoted to next year without even an exam, only because of the “Covid-19” outbreak. Trust me we all students felt it was a blessing and a dream which turned true. But now it’s been a lockdown for more than 5 months, where stepping out of the house has become dangerous, the pandemic which we found great and fun earlier has now taken a “THANOS” face, life risking and world ending. And now, though we are in a new academic year we all agree that it’s not that great idea to cancel exams or even bunk college. Now we all miss the real world, we agree to the fact that “Grass is not always greener on the other side”.

I am sure we have realized the value of living in the present. In the busy going life we all wanted a break and wanted to live the “Netflix and chill” kind of life. Fortunately or unfortunately we are now living that life, though we are working from home, we strongly agree that we are busy working for home. Somehow we have also started hating this chill life and want to move to more real life adventures.

Now we admit how important it is to make grass greener on our side. It’s important to appreciate your efforts to be in the position of life you are, at the same time it’s important to keep going and achieve greatness. Rather than wasting time in thinking about what would happen or what others are doing, why don’t we just stay focused and work hard on our grass.
